God created you and knows the destiny hidden within you. He will keep you concealed and your purpose hidden from man until the appointed time for you to be revealed.
This truth is evident in the life of David. When God rejects Saul as king, He instructs Samuel to anoint a different person chosen by him to be king. God directs Samuel, saying, "Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king" (1 Samuel 16:2).
Upon Samuel's arrival, he attempts to discern the son of Jesse whom God has chosen as king. Seeing Eliab, Samuel thinks, "Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord." However, the Lord corrects Samuel, saying, "Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:6-7). Each of Jesse's sons passes before Samuel, but none is the chosen one until the youngest, David, is called. David is the one God selects and anoints to eventually become king.
People often form judgments based on external factors such as appearance and circumstances. However, God sees beyond the surface; He perceives us through the greatness He has placed within us. God takes us through a refining process to develop the greatness inside us to its fullest capacity. Though you may feel hidden and unnoticed by others, it is in these moments of concealment that God cultivates what is within you. Even if others fail to recognize your greatness, God sees it and will elevate you to your destiny when the time is right.
God's timing is perfect, and it is in the hiddenness that greatness is refined, enabling you to effectively fulfill God's purpose in your life.
