God desires to use each of us as His vessels to carry out His purpose. Throughout this process, God will refine and renew us, removing behaviors and mindsets that do not align with the culture of Heaven.
Many times during this transformative journey, we may grow weary and desire things from our past. In Exodus 16:3, the Israelites began to grumble against Moses and Aaron, saying, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”
When the process becomes challenging, we might adopt the same attitude as the Israelites, longing to return to behaviors and attitudes that were once comfortable for us, rather than trusting God and allowing Him to purify us so that we may emerge with liberated mindsets. It can be tempting to abandon the process and revert to the familiar, but God, our good shepherd, can be trusted to remain faithful and sustain us during difficult times.
God desires to free us from what we thought was the “best” for us, leading us into what He knows is the greatest for us. However, if we abandon the process before God is finished, we will miss the fruits of that transformation and the divine plan He had in mind for us.
Remember that God is faithful, and He will sustain you with His grace and strength. May you be strengthened to stand firm. May you endure and not grow weary. May you always remember that your days ahead are better than your former, and that what God has for you will be greater than anything you could ever imagine.
In Christ's love,
Athelia
